The M.S. Hacohanim Group wants everyone, including people with disabilities, to be able to use this website easily and independently. The site was built in line with the Israeli Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations, 2013, and Israeli Standard SI 5568 Part 1 (2023), which is based on WCAG 2.0 at level AA.
What we have done
- Accessibility is built into the site’s code, with no third-party plugin. The site is accessible without the accessibility menu as well.
- A round button in the corner of every page opens an accessibility menu, also from the keyboard. In it you can enlarge text up to 175%, switch to high contrast or a light background, show the site in grayscale, highlight links, headings and the focused element, switch to a readable font, increase text spacing, stop animations and enlarge the mouse pointer. Your settings are stored only in your own browser, and the “Reset settings” button clears them.
- The whole site can be used with a keyboard alone, and the focused element is clearly marked.
- Every page starts with a “Skip to content” link that bypasses the menu.
- Every image has a text alternative that describes it.
- Each page declares its language and reading direction (Hebrew right-to-left, English left-to-right), so screen readers read it correctly.
- Pages use an orderly heading structure, so you can jump between sections.
- Text and background colours meet the AA contrast level.
- The slideshow at the top of the page has a pause button. If your device is set to reduce motion, it does not move at all, and the site’s other animations respect that setting too.
- The site works on phones, tablets and computers.
How we tested
On 5 October 2026 we tested representative pages in Hebrew and English (home, about, import, contact and a branch page) with the axe-core testing tool against WCAG 2.1 level AA rules. No issues were found. Keyboard navigation, the skip link and pausing the slideshow were also checked by hand.
On 19 October 2026, after adding the accessibility menu, we repeated the test on the home page, a branch page and the English home page, on desktop and mobile: with the menu closed, with it open, and in the high-contrast and light-background modes. No issues were found. We also checked that the menu opens and closes from the keyboard and that Esc returns focus to its button.
Limitations
We keep improving the site, and some element may not yet be fully accessible. Navigation, map and WhatsApp links lead to external services (Waze, Google Maps and WhatsApp), whose accessibility is the responsibility of their operators.
